Job Description:Hitachi Energy is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Category Manager to join our team with a primary focus on contract negotiation and supplier relationship management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in negotiating favorable contracts with suppliers, building and maintaining strong relationships, and ensuring consistent supplier performance. They will play a critical role in optimizing procurement costs and driving value for Hitachi Energy.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead contract negotiation efforts for assigned categories, ensuring competitive pricing, favorable terms and conditions, and alignment with company policies
- Develop and implement supplier relationship management strategies to foster long-term partnerships, enhance collaboration, and drive continuous improvement
- Establish and maintain clear communication channels with suppliers, addressing any issues promptly and effectively
- Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks associated with supplier relationships
- Implement supplier performance metrics and monitor supplier performance against key indicators (KPIs), ensuring compliance with quality, delivery, and cost expectations
- Negotiate contract renewals and extensions, ensuring ongoing alignment with business needs and market dynamics
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, operations, and engineering, to ensure seamless integration of supplier relationships and procurement strategies
- Stay up-to-date on market trends, industry best practices, and regulatory changes relevant to supplier relationships and contract negotiation
Your Bakcground
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field
- 2-5 years of experience in category management, procurement, or a related field with a strong focus on contract negotiation and supplier relationship management
- Proven track record of successfully negotiating and managing complex contracts with suppliers
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and procurement software applications
- Excellent communication skills in English and ideally German
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively articulate complex procurement matters to both internal and external stakeholders
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, capable of managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
