Our Compliance team is managing compliance risks in a diversified business environment including power generation, energy trading and project development across Europe. We are looking for a Compliance Specialist to join our team. You will report to our Head Compliance and can be based in any of the Alpiq locations.
Your main responsibilities - KYC screening of new business partners and suppliers to identify risks related to sanctions, politically exposed persons, embargoes, money laundering, corruption, public (negative) media and ESG issues, especially human rights such as child labour, etc.
- Monitoring of existing business partners and suppliers
- Support in dealing with KYC requests from third parties (banks, business partners, public authorities, etc.)
- Maintenance of a record of all communications, actions and decisions taken in conducting due diligence on business partners and suppliers
- Responsibility for the support of appropriate tools and platforms to assist in the KYC due diligence process
- Support with periodic reports
Your profile - Educational background in a legal field (for example Paralegal) or first experience in similar role
- Knowledge of international standards and regulations, particularly in the areas of corruption, bribery, money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions, trade control laws and international sustainability standards an advantage
- Experienced in performing due diligence and advantage
- Proficient in English, additional German or other European languages are an advantage
