As a
Quality Control Manager (m/w/d), you will plan, organize and oversee the implementation of Quality Control programs and provide assistance for the daily quality control operation and activities within a large manufacturing site.
You will be based in Vernier, Switzerland (hybrid role, #LI-Hybrid), and will report directly to the Head of Operations in Vernier.
In this exciting role, your main responsibilities will include:Strategy design and execution - Based on global QM strategy for QC, implement tactical and operational quality control plans for the assigned site in order to meet objectives.
EHS - Applying applicable corporate or local guidance relating to EHS in QC.
- Defining EHS requirements for both employees working in QC and visitors (internal & external) to QC.
- Ensuring that effective procedures are in place to enforce the EHS requirements.
- Assuring the QC team is adequately trained and aware of applicable EHS requirements.
QM Compliance - Ensuring the QC function works in a manner that is compliant to Global QM's requirements for QC.
Material Quality - Maintaining the global harmonization in quality of purchased raw materials and manufactured products to the defined standard/specification.
- Ensuring the accuracy and appropriateness of sensory assessments, test results and the final QC Pass/Fail usage decision, considering all implications globally.
- Ensuring material standards are maintained, fit for use and updated as required.
- Ensuring that the material status of both Site & Batch owned inventory is appropriately maintained.
Management of Material Non Conformance - Ensuring the function can provide adequate effective technical leadership, support, advice and expertise in relation to material quality issues and determine root cause / preventive action relating to material quality complaints, questions & enquiries.
Test Equipment, Methods & Reagents - Ensuring that QC instrumentation and equipment is calibrated and maintained.
- Ensuring that reagents, solvents, consumables etc used in QC are controlled and of the required quality.
- Ensuring that QC test methods are sufficiently accurate & precise, documented, version controlled and validated
Material Specifications - Effectively maintaining all aspects of material specifications
- Maintaining sample drawing & special handling instructions
Management of People - The management of employees within the QC function, ensuring the required level of capability and competency is maintained.
- Oversee the execution of annual human resources processes within the local QC organization and validate related results.
- Work with the local Operations management team and HR Business Partner(s) in developing a talent pipeline for the local QC organization.
- Drive the development and promotion of local QC talents within Operations.
You?Your professional background includes: - Bachelor degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science or related discipline.
- Overall work experience of 7+ years in a similar position.
- Previous background in Sensory Evaluation and Analytical QC required.
- 4 to 5 years of people management / supervisory experience required.
- Proficiency in English and French
- Proficiency in systems and procedures for laboratory operations.
- Proficiency in production methods and quality control systems and procedures in manufacturing facilities.
- Broad knowledge of product technologies and applications.
- Broad knowledge of ingredients and products safety principles, global standards as well as regulations.
- Knowledge of ingredients and products labelling regulations.
- Knowledge of sensory principles and understanding of the data analysis of sensory results.
