The PositionThe Pharma Technical Operations (PT) Global MSAT & Engineering (PTT) group takes bold steps to modernize technical operations so Roche can deliver medicines for patients more quickly, efficiently and reliably. In partnership with PT colleagues, we shape and accelerate technology innovation and product lifecycle management for tomorrow, while standardizing and driving operational excellence in PT today.
The PTT - global Manufacturing Science and Technology (gMSAT) department focuses on technical support for commercial products in our internal and external drug substance and drug product network, implementation of new technologies, network standardization and distribution technologies.
Your OpportunityWe are looking for you as a Product Scientific Expert (m/f/d). You will assume overall process responsibility and manage cross-product technical knowledge for the assigned product portfolio and the internal and external production network. Your focus is on biologics/sterile drug products
- You significantly influence the direction and resource allocation of programs and translate sophisticated product strategies into technical strategies and/or strategic roadmaps to enable transparency and PT prioritization
- You identify and solve complex and strategic problems and are responsible for implementing improvements in development, products, processes or services
- As part of product health and internal and external network support, you will own and manage complex company-relevant processes and activities to ensure the process capability of the production process in the network (i.e. internal and external manufacturing network) even beyond standardized processes, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements and their change to process performance
- You will correspond with health authorities and internal and external quality audits in order to respond to requests for information
- You act as an industry-wide expert on complex technical issues as well as an advisor to management, expediting challenging and far-reaching agreements and decisions and presenting confidently at external meetings and conferences while building a company-wide network
- You lead and inspire colleagues professionally and contribute to their professional development and performance review. You act as a role model and develop effective risk-taking and decision-making for colleagues with less experience
- You will be responsible for and monitor the process performance and continuous further development of specialist operational topics (focus on Process technology, automation, process control, process plant design, technology standards).
- You create complex and strategic project plans and ensure the implementation of coordinated measures. You will also support the strategic solution of challenging technical problems and issues
- Resolve product and multi-product issues, risks, and opportunities including proposal in the form of strategic roadmap
Who you are - You have an advanced degree in life sciences or engineering and at least 10 years of experience in the drug product manufacturing and technology, with in depth specialist knowledge specializing in aseptic filling process development and/or manufacturing process validation -Experience in Contract manufacturing organizations, technology transfer and regulatory submissions are a plus
- You have previous matrix leadership, cross-functional team leadership, or people management experience and extensive knowledge of the PTx function
- You have a proven capability to foresee and solve problems through Identification of med/high opportunities and solutions implementation
- You communicate clearly and effectively to explain difficult concepts and convince high-ranking executives to adopt alternative points of view
- You are confident in external presentations and place great value on a company-wide network
- You are willing to travel up to 20%
